What customers say?

“ Bustling traditional trolley style yumcha with very fresh dishes. Begrudgely I am giving them 4 star as the food is next to none, HOWEVER service is definitely lacking. Waiters are rude and unresponsive unless you speak Cantonese. The trolley ladies and matron'D are nice enough. Make sure you are also a club member so you get the extra 10% discount. We arrived at 12:30pm on a Friday so there was a wait for tables (15mins approx). Since the food is good, I would say it's worth the wait. For 3 people, ordering mainly large and XL dishes, $107 before discount is reasonable in this climate. Strong recommend getting here before 12pm if you want a table quickly. ”

“ Satisfied our craving for fried rice and sweet and sour pork after a late night trip. Orders delivered quickly and the food was delicious. Big servings except for the fried vegetables. Fried rice had lots of prawns and colours only abit soggy but still happy with the dish. Sweet and sour pork was just right not too sweet or sour. Pretty good local Chinese food. ”

“ I recently visited this amazing Chinese restaurant that offers Yum Cha in the mornings and on Friday nights—definitely worth checking out! While I went on a Wednesday, I was still able to indulge in some authentic Chinese dishes that did not disappoint. I tried the roasted duck, which came in two courses: the traditional sliced duck and the Peking-style with pancakes. Both were absolutely delicious, with the duck perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The stir-fry beef flat noodles were another highlight—comforting, flavorful, and just what I needed for a chill evening. The chicken and abalone hot pot was a standout dish for me. It wasn’t too salty, just the right balance of flavors, and it paired perfectly with a bowl of hot rice. It was the kind of comfort food that warms you up from the inside out. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, with the restaurant being located in a bar area. And let me tell you, the place was packed with Chinese locals, which is always a good sign of authenticity! If you’re in the mood for some legit Chinese cuisine, this is the spot to hit up. I’ll definitely be back, especially to try their Yum Cha next time! ”

“ After so many years of looking for a decent place for yumcha, the Pearl is now our favourite! They have a good selection of very tasty items with good quality and consistency, a compliment to the chefs. And we've been coming here weekly since! ”

“ Came here with 3 others for a dinner. We ordered the Pearl Special Banquet for 4 people. The dishes we selected were Free-range Chicken (Cantonese Poached Chicken), Diced Wagyu Beef & Mushroom in Traditional Gravy and Pearl Superior Treasure Pot. The Set Menu comes with Steamed Rice. We were also given complimentary Prawn Crackers at the start of the meal and Orange Slices at the end of the meal. The Free-range Chicken was traditional, tasty, & well presented. Fresh yellow chicken, chewy skin, soft meat, and amazing chicken taste. The dish was carved beautifully for serving. The ginger scallion sauce was aromatic, umami & clean, greatly complimenting the chicken meat. The Diced Wagyu Beef & Mushroom in Traditional Gravy was greatly enjoyed by the group. There was a generous amount of beef, alongside the mushrooms, capsicum & onion. The beef was perfectly cooked; tender, juicy, flavourful & evenly cut. The mushrooms were also seasoned well and had a great texture. The capsicum and onion were cooked very well: not overpowering the beef, but also not soggy or overcooked. The Pearl Superior Treasure Pot was great. The prawns & scallops were fresh and perfectly cooked; juicy, plump, springy & not fishy. The duck legs were marinated very well. The bok choy was perfect: cooked just enough to stay vibrant & crunchy without any raw leafy taste. The sauce for the hot pot really drew everything together and went well with the rice. The portions were also large & generous - we all had enough to eat! There was literally nothing we could fault regarding the quality and flavour of the food. Food came out very quickly. Interior has some decorations, and is spacious. Unfortunately, the one downside to our experience was the service: the waiters did not seem to want to help you, and they do not take initiative to refill the hot water for our teapot - we had to ask multiple times. Overall, this restaurant's food is very high quality: traditional, tasty Cantonese style dishes which will definitely impress. However, service is not the best. We spent a little under $30pp. If you come here, I would recommend all of the dishes that I tried during my visit! ”

“ Visited friends in Ramsgate and she suggested The Pearl Asia Eating House for dinner. We ordered four dishes to share since there were only three of us: xiao long bao, combination tofu hotpot, jade tofu with mushroom, and pork ribs in Peking sauce. I have to say, all the dishes were very well cooked and tasty; portions were generous, pork ribs were juicy. However, one let down was how long it took for the xiao long bao to come out, when we were almost finished with dinner. Service was so-so: the guy that greet us was not welcoming and I found quite abrupt, the other servers were not much better, which makes me wonder if they even like their job. Bad service will cancel out good food any time. ”

“ Hands down the best place for dim sum that’s close to Hurstville. Prices were very good for the quality of foods! Very big selection, hence they are extremely busy especially on the weekends. Better get here early before 11:30am to get your table. The service is quick and friendly. If you love tofu, definitely get the tofu for dessert, it was so good with the sugar and ginger syrup, just the right amount of sweetness. Highly recommended!! ”
